      At first glance, $46 (YP) and $88 (Google) per call might seem a little high, but these are averages for a study of 62 companies, in very different categories. For Yellow Pages, the amounts range from $8 to $162 per call, (Vs the cost for Google Adwords, which ranged between $17 and $257).

      Depending on the type of business, even $162 offers positive return on investment (ROI). Let’s say you’re in the roofing or renovation business and your average contract is $10K, the cost for that customer contacting your is a good investment, as he or she is actively seeking your services and your sales potential largely offsets the cost of the call. It’s all about tracking results and making sure your advertising generates positive return on investment.
